Most Depressing Movie Ever

Watched this movie last night.  I didn't read the article linked above.  It's just where I found the movie poster photo.  Plot spoilers ahead.

This is arguably the most depressing movie I have ever seen.  I don't think we started watching it right at the beginning because it was on cable, but I think we came in early enough to get the gist.  Dude gets jilted by sweetheart just before getting married.  Dude attempts suicide.  Dude moves back in with parents in NY City apartment.  Dude gets set up with nice Jewish girl by his parents.  Acutally nice girl.  Dude starts watching beautiful female neighbor through the window.  Dude makes friends with neighbor, realizes after he's already invested emotionally that she's no good for him.  Dude starts relationship with nice girl.  Months later bad girl calls him and needs him to take her to the hospital.  Surprise! She's miscarrying the baby of  her married lover.  Dude is in love with her.  ( I think! He says he is at least, but not to her) meanwhile he's still with nice girl.  Bad girl leaves married lover after telling him she miscarried his baby.  Bad relationship things happen.  This is the last 10 to 20 minutes of the movie!  Dude plans to go to San Fran with bad girl.  Doesn't tell his family who has his future all planned for him ( a good future and secure) that he's leaving.  Ready to go, Dude waiting outside apartment for bad girl.  Bad girl shows up, can't go, married lover finally left wife and kids for her.  Dude goes back inside to parents New Year's Eve party and proposes to nice girl with engagement ring he bought for bad girl.  That day!

Oh my gosh.  This was the most depressing movie ever.  That guy needed to be taught how to treat people.  Women especially.

I don't recommend it.  I couldn't find anything redeeming about it.
