So, we have been casually (sort of) looking at houses on the internet for a bit now. We actually found a super great house with a pool and an awesome party pad outside but basically needs to be torn down to the studs inside and out. The realtor said that we should get a contractor in there and get an estimate then offer the bank (it's a foreclosure) what they want minus the cost for repairs. I was completely down with that but there are five of us now, three of the five being adults, and if all the adults aren't on board then it ain't happenin'.
My husband is a dreamer. He was selling that house like you wouldn't believe. I could totally see the vision. Totally. Well, actually, as soon as I saw the pool, multi level deck, and pool house I was sold. A large house on a large lot in the right school district if I ever run screaming from homeschooling and close to church, math teacher, and in a country setting. Wow.
But, like I said, total tear down. Needs siding, roofing, maybe an addition on the left side. Has mold inside and would need lots of drywall torn out. Kitchen and bathrooms need updating. It would be a lot of work. But I think the bones would be good.
I could totally imagine myself there, hosting parties on the deck, jumping in the pool. MMMMMM. I wonder if the neighbors are nice. :)
